Preview The Groom's Room, Paducah KY: where your groom and groomsmen are DEFINITELY going to want to hang out

I’ve seen many grooms (my own groom included - sorry babe!) relegated to a small, windowless and kinda sad area to get ready for their wedding. If there’s a getting-ready place at your ceremony venue that’s light, bright, clean and nice, usually the bride stakes her claim right away. This is often a practical choice: hair and makeup requires good light, the wedding gown takes up a lot of room, the bride and her wedding party will probably be in the room longer because it takes them longer to get ready. Rocia Keeling, wedding planner and owner of Rocia’s Events and Catering in Paducah, Kentucky, saw this dynamic and recognized a need for a great space for the guys. In March 2020, she’s opening The Groom’s Room at 517 Broadway in downtown Paducah and I recently got a first look and the chance to photograph it.

You guys are going to love this space! It’s in a cool historic building situated right behind the Grand Lodge. It would be perfect for anyone getting married there, or at other venues around Paducah. The Groom’s Room is bright with lots of windows and tall ceilings. Rocia’s wedding planning experience means she’s literally thought of everything for the space. There’s a bar area, clothing rack, barber chair, and full-length mirror. To help everyone relax, she also added a pool table, large TV, Xbox, dart board, and a basketball goal.

I loved hanging out with and photographing some fun local celebrities in The Groom’s Room. From a photography perspective, it was a dream! Great light and plenty of space to move around. Pillars, large window sills, and a mannequin to hang the suit or tux on made detail shots super fun and let me get creative! There are also great outdoor locations nearby.

Definitely contact Rocia to see the space in person if you’re needing a place for your guys to get ready!
