Winter 2020 COVID-19 Update

We’re approximately 900 months into this pandemic and finally there’s an end in sight! I’m feeling hopeful with the latest vaccine news and I’m trying to remain optimistic that 2021 will be a better year. Like many business owners, 2020 has been a struggle of trying to pivot, adjust, and remain flexible. I decided early on that keeping my family safe was going to have to be my number one priority, so I was only able to do a few outdoor sessions and weddings.

2020 was the first year where running my photography business was supposed to be my full time career and instead I spent most of the year looking after my 6 year old kiddo trying to make sure she bounces back okay from this year of isolation and uncertainty. It was a struggle putting my career on hold but it was absolutely the right decision.

I feel proud of the extra safety precautions I implemented in my own business practices and that I witnessed my wedding couples adapt to. It was tough but we did it!

Smaller celebrations helped the time go by faster and reminded me that love, connection, and family are the most important things on earth. My simplified weddings were no less beautiful or happy. My family’s own socially-distanced outdoor dinners with my parents were so special to me after months apart. My living room dance parties with Hazel and David were numerous, and Hazel’s first sleepover with our friends we’re podding with was a huge success that she says she’ll remember until she’s 90. Still, I love big parties - that’s why photographing weddings is my favorite - and I can’t wait to be on a real dance floor again.

I’m still concerned about health and safety for myself and my clients, so I’ll be taking on fewer sessions for the first part of 2021. If you’d like to be added to a waiting list and contacted when I have an opening, please put your email in the box below.

Thank you for your support this year! Looking forward to a happier 2021!
