What is Forward?
I’m creating headshots and personal branding photography for strong, smart, ambitious women.
We all know that women face a different set of challenges in the workplace (read all about it) and we deserve change.
What is personal branding photography?
It’s a fun session to make you feel your best, represent your personality and style, and visually present what makes you and your ideas/business unique. It can be used for academics, entrepreneurs, small business owners, artists, musicians, and students/recent graduates to enhance their online presence and define their brand.
I want to offer these services specifically targeted toward self-identifying women as a way to catapult your work to the next level. Passionate, driven babes with goals and dreams are my kind of people. I strive to be intentionally intersectional and inclusive and I love working with women of all ages, ethnicities and body types.
Where do we shoot?
Beautiful natural light is my favorite kind, particularly during the first two hours after sunrise or before sunset. If we’re showing off your business, studio, home or workspace, I’ll work with you to make sure we’re shooting with the best possible light and conditions.
When will I receive my images?
Typically your gallery will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks of your session. I love to post sneak peeks on Instagram or Facebook within 48 hours of the session to tide you over and keep the party going.
How much editing do you do?
I don’t do heavy editing/retouching as I believe you’re perfect just the way you are :) and I try to nail all the shots in camera so it isn’t required. If you’d like to request more extensive editing, let me know.
My photography style is fun and colorful – modern enough that it doesn’t look exactly like everyone else’s photos but classic enough that you’ll still smile when you look at them for years to come. I can also tailor my style to meet your brand’s needs.
What’s included? Can I post the images online?
You’ll receive a digital gallery of final edited images and you choose your top 15. Once you’ve sent me your favorites, you’ll have instant access to download these files. If you can’t narrow it down, you can purchase the full gallery or additional individual images.
You can absolutely use them on your website and social media - I want you to use them to build a cohesive brand. You can order prints directly from your gallery or through a print shop of your choosing. Your digital images come with a print release.
What are you (Robyn, the photographer) like as a person?
I’m funny and quirky and nerdy and creative. I’m open-minded and I value inclusivity and intersectional feminism. I want my clients to feel like old friends by the end of the day and I also really want to help you succeed. I’d love to hear about your work, project or business and help you figure out how photography and branding can help you reach your goals.
What if I hate having my picture taken?
Girl, me too. I’ll happily work with you to select wardrobe that makes you feel and look great and there’s totally optional but really fun addition of professional hair and makeup.
I have a lot of tricks to make the experience fun and enjoyable so that you’re sure to love the images you receive from me. I’m not afraid to make a dumb joke or do something totally ridiculous in order to get a relaxed and genuine smile. Also I’ve found that a glass of wine can help in these situations. :)
