Megan + Jon | Paducah, KY Wedding Photography
Along with their families, Megan and Jon pulled off the most magical backyard garden party Paducah, KY wedding in just a few months of a planning. Changing circumstances meant some changes to the wedding they were originally planning but this perfect day is proof that love is the most important thing. Their advice to other couples planning a wedding: “Remain patient with each other and all things.”
Since I met Megan and Jon for coffee to talk about their wedding, I thought they were some of the most interesting and unique people. I actually went to high school with them and we were in marching band together. :) They reconnected a few years after high school and have had adventures all over the States in various jobs before finally settling back down in Paducah.
Megan and her mom run a boutique called Little Black Dog, a shop full of vintage homewares and apparel. Peep some of their collection of vintage glass ware below - you can rent these and other cool items from their shop! Many of the details of the wedding were DIYed by Megan - she watercolored the table numbers and place cards and even spun her own cotton candy. Megan’s dad has ties to the circus so there were some fun details like cotton candy and a popcorn machine that made the evening even more fun and festive. The twinkly lights under the tent in the backyard of their new home were just plain magic, and their guests ate and relaxed to the tunes of a banjo and mandolin player (such perfectly authentic Kentucky entertainment).
We started off the day together in downtown Paducah for some Old-Hollywood glam style portraits of the couple near the Market House Theatre and The 1857 Hotel and then returned to their house for the ceremony and reception. Thanks for such a great evening, Megan and Jon, and I wish you all the best!
