Michelle + Woody

Michelle and Woody are both artists who’ve recently settled in Murray (Michelle grew up here but moved away for a while) to make a beautiful, intentional life together. The list of things they love and love doing together includes: cooking, growing food, words, tiny details, bees, books, & more.

Their handmade, playful wedding at Kenlake State Resort Park was so full of whimsy and joy. So many tiny details were hand-crafted by the couple or their friends and family, giving every aspect of the wedding such a personal touch. Here’s a list of the things I can remember: all the flowers were grown and arranged by the couple, Woody’s tie was made by his dad, Michelle created her flower crown in the hotel just a couple hours before the wedding, they stayed up the night before baking apple pies, family brought cheese and meat from all over for their hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour, the ring dish and bud vases were made by a friend, Michelle and friends sewed the flags for all the guests (each one had a unique pattern on it), the ribbons were collected from friends and family, the food was locally sourced by Artisan Kitchen where Woody also works, the jewelry was custom made from recycled gold, the invitations were designed/letter-pressed by Michelle, and everyone took home a hand-bound copy of “Hamburgers for a Wedding” - a book Michelle wrote and illustrated as an 8 or 9 year old.

Congratulations Michelle and Woody on crafting such a special, meaningful day to mark the start of your marriage! I know your marriage will be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
